It's a long story -> My trip at E.u.r.o.p.e

In October 2006 my family and I went to Europe. We joined Anta Tour travel agent unfortunately my brother did not go with us because he had his church activity. We departed from Surabaya and transited in Singapore. More less two hours we stayed at Changi, Singapore Airport. Changi Singapore Airport is very beautiful. It looks like a mall. There are many shops which sell various goods. My Mom bought a bottle of perfume in a Duty Free Shop (DFS). I did not buy anything. I just did windows shopping. It is really a nice place for transit. It is very clean as a public place.

The first place that our tour went was Rome, Italy. The journey to Rome is very long. My tour consisted of twenty persons. We all flew by Singapore Airlines. I did not feel bored because in the aeroplane I could watch film privately. There is a tv screen above every seat. There were a lot of programs such as music programs, language programs, movie programs and games. I was interested in movie programs. A lot of new movie were there and there are old movies too. For example Titanic, Ana and The King and Phantom.

Arriving Rome, we went to Colloseum, fighting place for gladiator. When Greek period. We also visited Pisa tower. Italy is identical with Pisa tower which is famed with the slope. The following day we left Italy and fly to Holland. The weather in Holand was very cold. I had to wear shirts thick and jackets in layers. My parents bought a lot of souvenirs there and we also took a picture wearing special Dutch costumes. We really enjoyed our visit there.
The las trip is Paris and London. We were all amazed by the Eiffel tower in Paris, France. From the Eiffel tower, you can see the whole Paris. At night, Eiffel looks very beautiful. There are a lot of lights around Eiffel shining.
Well, London was the end our journey. The buidings in London are very fantastic and amazing. We also visited a Buckingham palace and house of wax. A lot of artists statues made of wax are there. I took photographs with some of them. The are Brad Pitt’s statue, Pirates of Caribean actors’ statue till Albert Einstein’s statue. They are made as the original sizes.
It was a very nice holiday. I’l never forget it.^^
Maybe we’ll go to other countries next time.

My Holiday in Singapore

As a young girl, I’m not much different from my friends. One of my hobbies is traveling. I like to travel out of country. While traveling, I can also do my shopping. The first country that I visited was Singapore. I went there with my family, father, mother and older brother. We went there by tour because it was our first trip aboard. We thought that we needed to know much about the country and the tour guide would help us with his information. That was true. While we were traveling around Singapore, the tour guide told us about old Singapore and Singapore nowdays. It was a wonderful trip. Let me share some of the story.
In old Singapore, there was several well-known places. One of the centres of attraction was Albert Street. Every night, brightly litstalls flooded the street with glaring lights. Singaporeans and tourists would frequent the place for its variety of local dishes. One of the most popular eating houses along Albert street was the Wing Seong Restaurant. For more than half a century, the owner, the Au family, carried on a thriving business. The better known name of the restaurant was ‘Fatty’s’, named after Au Chun Seng, who was a plump, pleasant man. The popularity of the restaurant stemmed from its consistently tasty and good quality food.
Today, the stalls have been cleared away to make way for conservation and other building purposes but there are still some old building around. Many of these old buildings are nearly a century old.
A walk down Albert Street takes one to Kampong Glam on the banks of the Rochor River, here a visitor will find Arab, Bugis and Indonesian trades playing their trade. In the past, after selling their goods, the trades would gather at Bugis Street to eat, drink and talk about the business of the day.
Today, the MRT runs close by the famous Bugis Street where it has been extensively reorganized. Stalls have taken on a new look. However, the place has lost much of the ruggedness it had before 1985. to many who used to frequent the street in the past, Bugis Street has lost its old charm. Although the ‘reincarration’ Bugis Street is the making, its soul has gone forever.
That’s all about one of the old Singapore that is really amazing for me. Singapore nowdays is very modern and one place that really attract many people, Singaporeans and tourists, to visit is Sentosa Island. This place offer you a lot of fun. Every time I come to Singapore, I will spend one day there.
Sentosa is the most developed of the Southern islands of Singapore. There are many interesting attractions on the island. One of the biggest attractions is the Underwater World. There is a specialy designed tunnel from which one can observe the different types of marine animals in action through its transparent walls. Another interesting place to visit is the Surrender Chamber. Twenty Seven wax-work figures depicting the scene of the official surrender of the Japanese forces are displayed. Other attractions like the Maritime Museum and the Fort Siloso also reveal a part of Singapore’s history to the visitors. All these atttactions are easily accessible by monorail.
Sentosa has a great store of fun, excitement and amusement for people of all ages. This enchanting island allows people to take a break from their usual hectic city lives.
